Are you also troubled by insurance companies? Know, where and how to complain for complaint

New Delhi, Business Desk. If you are not satisfied with the insurance company, you can make a complaint. The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) has a mechanism for filing complaints of policyholders against insurance companies. We are telling here how your complaint will be resolved.

Complain to the Insurance Company

You can first approach the Grievance Redressal Officer (GRO) of the Insurance Company by registering a written complaint. The GRO resolves the complaint within a reasonable period of time. If no satisfactory reply is received from GRO within 15 working days, you may approach IRDAI.

What you need to do to send complaint to IRDAI

Contact the Grievance Redressal Cell of IRDAI on the toll-free number 155255.

Send an e-mail to the complaint @irdai.gov.in along with any required documentary proof.

Mail a written complaint to the IRDAI Grievance Redressal Cell. Register complaint on IRDAI’s online portal IGMS.

what is the process

Grievances registered with IRDAI through any of the above means shall be resolved by the Insurance Company to the Policyholder within the stipulated time.

If you are not satisfied with the resolution offered by the insurance company, the complaint can be further referred to the Insurance Ombudsman, if it is covered by the Ombudsman.

1. It is important to have a written acknowledgment or reference number related to the registered complaint, which will be used for further correspondence.

2. By registering a complaint through IGMS, its status can be easily tracked till its resolution.
